A Miscommunication
After spending a very busy week packing for the next 6 months; China, NC, FL and Costa Rica and closing up the trailer (including some unforeseen repairs) I felt pretty accomplished by Sunday midday. Ray and I decided to take a relaxing beach walk with the dog. Meanwhile, Kathy had been ploughing through all kinds of her own  things to take care of before leaving. Our peaceful scene was shattered that afternoon by a frantic phone call from Kathy, who informed me that our flight to China was the next morning and NOT the following day as we had planned. Apparently, we had confused the departing date with the arrival date. Thankfully, Edie, our traveling partner, had noticed Kathy's email about our leaving on  Tuesday and immediately contacted her. Not only that, but we neglected to notice the departure time brought us right into dealing with rush hour traffic the next morning.

Panic!
We all went into panic mode. So much for Ray and I spending a quiet day to ourselves before the trip! Later that night I realized Sunday was our wedding anniversary - that we had both forgotten, as well.

More Panic!
After a sleepless night, I began packing the car before dawn, and decided to just touch base with Kathy. 45 minutes before she was due to meet us I called her, and woke her out of a dead sleep. She had been up so late, and was so tired she slept right through the alarm. She pulled up a bit disheveled, but on time!

Even More Panic!
We did get it together, and actually arrived at the airport a couple of hours later, on time, believe it or not!  However, "Murphy" was not done with us yet! On the way to the airport Kathy pulled out her debit card, and it fell... Ray, Kathy and I ransacked the car several times, but could not find it. As of now it still remains lost....
